About the stylist
Amber is an accomplished hairstylist whose journey began at just 9, braiding her school friends’ hair into French plaits in her primary school playground. Passionate about all hair types, she welcomes everyone to the community, creating a space where hair of every texture is celebrated. What started as a childhood love quickly developed into professional experience, as she began styling clients while in sixth form.
Her craft evolved dramatically during university, where over nearly eight years (starting in 2016) she honed her skills by braiding and styling in her halls. After graduating, Amber not only solidified extensive hands-on experience but also expanded her expertise to include male hair styling, ensuring versatility across textures and styles.
Since then, she has worked on a wide range of creative projects, collaborating with world-leading brands including RUKA Hair, FILA, and styling artists within the music industry. She further elevated her expertise under the mentorship of a world-leading stylist specialising in the foundations of 4C hair, while continuously refining her skills through independent learning.
Amber took some time out for a while after, forcibly needing to recuperate, and from that space founded SHE DOES HAIR — driven by a missing and pure delight in her craft and the fulfilment she experiences when seeing her clients’ joy after having their hair done. That drive has led to a continuation of her journey — blending passion, experience, and professional excellence. Today, she is not only consistently servicing clients at the highest level but also a strong desire to empower the next generation, offering mentorship, guidance, and encouragement to help aspiring stylists make their own mark in the industry.
